Presentations will be 60 minutes in length plus 10 minutes for question and answers.
Most presenters use a PowerPoint (PPT) slide presentation. PowerPoint presentations should be in PPT or PDF format. Presentations will be placed on greymatters2018.com one week prior to the conference.
All successful applicants must submit their presentations by September 1, 2018.
NOTE: Do not use imbedded video streams in presentations. Videos and video clips must be uploaded to YouTube or on a portable USB. Please provide the link to the conference manager when submitting presentations. If you are bringing the file on a USB drive, please bring it to the HELP Desk on the morning of your presentation.
• Have a great title – grab your audience.
• PPT should include:
- lots of white space
- great graphics
- points that include meaningful messages
- provide resource links
- contact information on the first or last slide

PPT are there to enhance your presentation NOT be the presentation. PPT should NOT include your session verbatim, or complex graphics.
Presenters are responsible for printing handout documents.
Grey Matters is committed to supporting a green conference. All documents will be placed on www.greymatters2018.com for delegates to view and download. Documents must be in MS doc, MS docx, or PDF format.
Grey Matters will not be responsible for printing, or related costs to print handouts.
Sound system, computer (Windows os), LCD projector/screen, podium, microphone and/or lapel microphone. Additional AV equipment may be available at the discretion of Grey Matters Conference committee.
As a speaker you may register for Grey Matters Conference at a reduced registration fee. Speaker registration fees are determined by the conference committee each year. Registration opens in May.
Speaker fees and expenses will be considered. Please outline your request for fees and expenses in your proposal.
Rules and Requirements at 2018 Grey Matters Conference
Speakers must provide the Alberta Association of Senior Centres with an invoice for agreed upon speaker fees and related expenses, as outlined in the speaker acceptance letter.
Speakers must provide personal information for GST and taxation purposes.
Payment will be made on the day of the conference, upon completion of the presentation.
2. ASSIGNMENT OF SPEAKING ENGAGEMENT
Speakers will be assigned a date and time to present. Grey Matters will make every effort to accommodate special requests. Not withstanding the above, Grey Matters retains the right to assign or change speaker dates and times at its sole discretion, as deemed necessary.
3. CANCELLATION OF CONFERENCE
If Grey Matters is prevented from proceeding with the conference, for whatever cause, Grey Matters shall cancel the speaking engagement without any liability to Grey Matters. Speakers may cancel their presentation with written notification to Grey Matters Conference.
Speakers will not provide substitute speakers/presenters without written notification to Grey Matters Conference.
